Hong Kong Art Week 2016- Autumn Edition

Hong Kong Art Week 2016– Autumn Edition has been officially unveiled on 27 October, with over 50 galleries participating in more than 100 free exhibitions and events. The programs include gallery tours, artist talks, studio visits, family art days and much more. Most of the activities are free of charge. In addition, a mobile app for self-guided walks in three different art districts is launched. Even if you miss some activities, you can still visit them later using this app. Some programs are highlighted for you below:

  1. THE GALLERY WALK for Charity

More than 30 galleries are participating in the event. There will be live music, public art installations and refreshments. You can experience the art of Hong Kong through the walk. The proceeds will be used for charitable purposes.

  • Date and Time: 3 November (Thur) 5pm – 10pm
  • Venue: Central, Sheung Wan and Sai Ying Pun
  • Admission: $225 for students; $ 351 for adults
  1. Art Day at South Island

More than 20 galleries, art spaces or studios will be open to the public. There will be special programs like an Art Symposium, guided tours, performances and art treasure hunt.

  • Date and Time:  5 November (Fri) 12nn – 7pm
  • Venue: Southern District
  • Admission: Free
  1. Family Art Day

Young people and families are welcomed to join together for artistic creation, such as outdoor painting, leaf collage, graffiti or facial painting.  These large-scale outdoor art activities are good places for people of all ages.

  • Date and Time: 6 November (Sun) 11am – 5pm
  • Venue: Tamar Park
  • Admission: Free
  1. SOHO189 Art Lane Art Night

All the art galleries at SOHO 189 Art Lane will extend the opening hours on the same day. There will be a number of seminars, guided tours and performances which will bring a perfect ending to Hong Kong Art Week 2016.

  • Date and Time: 9 November (Wed) 6pm – 10pm
  • Venue: 189 Queen’s Road West
  • Admission: Free
