Hong Kong International Film Festival 2017
The Hong Kong International Film Festival, also known as HKIFF or Hong Kong Film Festival was first held by the Urban Council in 1977. It has been organized for over 40 years and is usually held during the Easter.
The festival has been hailed as a prestige film gathering event in the Asia since its inception. Not only new and classic Hong Kong and Chinese movies, but also outstanding movies from all over the world will be on the big screen for filmmakers, film professionals and film lovers to enjoy.
HKIFF serves as a film release and sharing platform in Asia, and is one of the largest cultural events in Hong Kong. It also features symposiums, film exhibitions, celebration parties and more.
The festival generally screens more than 250 movies from over 50 countries in major cultural venues across the city, in recognition of the elite and emerging talents of the Asian film industry. Every year, it attracts a large number of media from around the globe and an audience of over 600,000 including professionals in the industry.
