Welcome to Hong Kong Disneyland

Millions of tourists are attracted by Disneyland Hong Kong every year. It was opened in 2005 and has become one of the top most visited theme parks in the world. It is the second Disneyland Park in Asia following the one in Tokyo, Japan.

Okay, let’s enter the theme park. The Main Street USA is the first zone of the park when we pass through the entrance. It resembles an early 20th-century Midwest town with reference to the town where Walt Disney lived during his childhood. There are many shops where you can buy souvenirs. My love and I left it for later and hurried up to the Fantasyland.

Firstly, we watched The Golden Mickeys in a musical theater with well-known Disney characters performing on the stage. Then, we went to The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh for a ride. It is a Dark Ride – Indoor Ride which allows guests to experience the story in railcars with special effects. After that, we enjoyed some classic Disney movie songs and plots using stereoscopic glasses in a 4D theater – Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Don’t forget to meet costumed Disney characters at Fantasy Gardens before leaving the Fantasyland.

Our next stop was the Adventureland. It’s time for another show – Festival of the Lion King. The musicals is the adaptation of Disney animated classic “The Lion King” in a Broadway-style. We did enjoy the music, the dance, colorful costumes and special effects. We then returned to the Main Street USA for the Flights of Fantasy Parade.

Afterwards, we went to the Tomorrowland to experience the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. It was a fun to drive the space cruiser and used the laser guns. You can also find the Space Mountain there– the only indoor roller coaster with background music in operation in Hong Kong. But we dared not take the ride……

Instead, we returned to the Adventureland and took a raft to the Tarzan’s Treehouse to enjoy the scenery from a height. Later, we took the Jungle River Cruise. You may get wet on the cruise, so be careful.

It was getting dark when we finished the cruise. We ended the trip with Disney in the Stars – a nightly fireworks with Disney music and the Sleeping Beauty Castle as the background.

If you want to have more excitement, you can take the second roller coaster of the park – the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Car at the Grizzly Gulch. If you are a big friend of Woody, don’t forget to meet him at the Toy Story Land. You may also visit the museum inside the Mystic Manor at the Mystic Point by electromagnetic car. Don’t forget to try the Iron Man Experience.

How to reach Disney Hong Kong?

Hong Kong Disneyland is located at Penny’s Bay, Lantau Island. The easiest way to get there is taking the MTR. You can reach the Disneyland Resort by transferring at Sunny Bay of the Tung Chung line. It is quite near to the airport, so don’t miss the chance to visit it.
